Courtney has vast experience coaching children from age 5 to adult professionals, so please get in touch to book a trial session.
There are options to take exams, counting towards UCAS points, and taking part in festivals if desired. RSOPA hosts a concert each term where 1-2-1 Drama students are encouraged to perform in front of an informal audience to develop their performing skills if they chose.
*please note a parent is required to attend lessons with children 16 and under, of school age.
RSOPA’s group Drama lessons are available for children of all ages from reception up to young adults.
A group class helps students to do develop their group and individual acting skills, helps improve their physical presence, communication skills, team work skills, confidence and performing ability.
The classes explore speech and drama, acting performance skills, prose, poetry, plays, mask work, physical theatre, mime and tv/film acting skills.
RSOPA Theatre Group Academy
If your child is out for an ‘all round’ experience, then consider our Theatre Group Academy. Held on a Saturday, this programme allows the students to explore a drama, musical and dance each week. It’s a great programme for children looking for a varied and balanced programme. Students work towards an annual Musical. This year it’s HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL.
Students in Academy can attend the sessions or can opt in to take part in the show at the end of the year. You also have an option to join the Community Theatre Group for those young people who LOVE to perform at local events and performances regularly.
Please contact us for more information. We are happy to discuss your individual needs.
I have been taking drama classes at RSOPA since I first started 10 years ago. It quickly became one of my favourite forms of performing and has become a dream job for the future. The group lessons are so much fun and working on scripts and different techniques of acting/performing with a group of my closest friends is one of my favourite parts of RSOPA. I also take private lessons which have really helped me find a love for acting. The 1-2-1 coaching is amazing and I learn so much. Courtney is an incredible teacher and has helped me improve hugely, from character work to breathing. Aside from technique the lessons have taught me how to work well in a group and has helped my confidence grow a massive amount from when I started.Ysobelle Thorpe, Student
“My daughter started drama with Miss Courtney just a year ago. Having always loved performing and being dramatic it seemed like a natural progression for her alongside her dance classes. Drama is so much more than I was expecting; with learning about all aspects of drama. As an all round class I can’t recommend it enough and to top it off Miss Courtney makes it so much fun. ”Rachel Hardy, Parent
